Gran Canaria is unusually strong for winter padel. The highest club density sits around Las Palmas, while Club de Padel Bida provides the easiest visitor experience in the south. Telde adds a valuable indoor alternative between the two.
01The quick answer
For Las Palmas, La Calzada, La Galera and Drago are the strongest all-round choices. Gran Canaria Padel Indoor is the reliable indoor option in Telde. In the south, Club de Padel Bida is the clear visitor choice for coaching and level matching.
02How we selected the clubs
We prioritise official club sites and the Canary Islands padel federation.
Especially in the south, we checked current traveller reviews for recurring patterns around service and matching.
North and south are far apart, so the score also reflects fit with common holiday bases.
What current reviews actually show
- Bida receives notably consistent praise for friendly service, coaching and matching visitors with suitable players.
- Drago and La Calzada have strong competition and event profiles, which supports playing level but can make peak times busier.
- La Galera is valued for its scale, club life and food offering.
- Smaller clubs such as Magic Padel Arucas offer personal contact, but fewer open matches than Las Palmas.
03The best clubs in detail
La Calzada: competition and coaching
La Calzada lists 15 courts and is one of the Canary Islands’ important competition venues. It offers coaching across age groups and levels and appears regularly in federation events. That makes it ideal for ambitious players who want genuine playing depth rather than only an attractive court. Check availability early around major events.
La Galera: the large all-round club
La Galera lists 13 outdoor courts, including a central show-court-style venue. Its restaurant and grill area make it attractive for groups and longer sessions. The experience is more social than a functional training hall. It works well from Las Palmas, but daily travel from Maspalomas is unnecessarily long.
Drago: events and match play
Drago combines eleven courts, parking and straightforward access in the Las Palmas area. Tournament coverage repeatedly highlights the atmosphere and the team. It suits players who want to experience local match culture. Event days are exciting, but not automatically the best time for a quiet coaching session.
Gran Canaria Padel Indoor: dependable in Telde
Eight indoor courts, private parking and a Jinámar location make this a functional choice for heat or uncertain weather. Telde also works well on arrival or departure day because it is closer to the airport than many Las Palmas clubs. The setting is less scenic, but highly dependable.
Bida: the best visitor choice in the south
Bida in Maspalomas has six panoramic courts and clearly works with visitors through rental rackets, coaching and direct contact. Current reviews repeatedly praise the friendly team, coach Roman and effective level matching. One traveller described playing around 15 matches in four weeks, a strong sign that repeat play is realistic rather than accidental.
Magic Padel Arucas: small and personal
Magic Padel is not a volume club, but receives recommendations for personal contact, WhatsApp communication and English-speaking coaching. It can be a better fit for northern accommodation than a large venue on the opposite side of the island. For daily open matches, also check La Calzada, La Galera or Drago.

Las Palmas
The widest club choice and strongest competition scene. Ideal when padel is a daily part of a city stay.
Telde and the airport
Indoor certainty and short airport journeys. Useful for individual sessions between north and south.
Maspalomas and the south
Bida is the clear visitor base. Travel to Las Palmas is better for special events than every day.
07Planning advice for your club visit
Choose north or south
Do not plan to cross the island every day. Pick one main zone and at most one special destination club.
Plan for wind and sun
Morning or late-afternoon outdoor slots are more comfortable. Indoor Telde is the reliable alternative.
Ask about level matching
In the south, personal matching often works better than app search alone. Contact the club before travel.
Next step
The right club only becomes a great padel trip when the rhythm fits.
Elevation combines playing level, coaching, community and travel planning into a week that does not depend on chance.
